My name is Greg Maiocco.*
I’m from Ebensburg, PA (near Johnstown / Altoona, PA).

*Pronounced: may•AWE•co. I know, the three consecutive vowels.

Bio:

I started building car and monster models in the 1960’s and took a break when entering college in the early 1970’s. After marriage and a family I started back in the late 1980’s with an N gauge train layout and finally got back into monster figures in the late 1990’s. I am a member of the International Plastic Modelers Society (#44444) and the Black Swamp Modelers, a special interest group located in Toledo, Ohio that specializes in monster figures and science fiction subjects.

I worked 35 years as an elementary band director, high school band director, high school choral director and middle school classroom music teacher until my retirement in the spring of 2011. I now work as a professional musician; performing as a freelance woodwind specialist in large and small jazz ensembles, rhythm & blues bands, community concert bands, pit orchestras for local Broadway musical productions, local Symphony Orchestras and as leader of my own group “Candle In The Wind.”

Along with building models I also enjoy hunting, fishing and competitive NRA handgun and rifle shooting. I handload most of my competition and hunting ammunition and enjoy time spent in the outdoors as well as the studio, stage and workbench.
